Sicem Saga boasts a more than fourty years experience in pulp production field. The mill is located northern Italy in the middle of Padana flat well known for its poplar plantations. It was planned by Eng. Giorgio Gazza in 1960, with the aim of utilizing wood chips coming from many saw mills and plywood manufacturers of the area. Sicem Saga was the first company producing chemimechanical pulp from chips by means of disk refiners. Soon after the start up, in 1961, an innovative and everimproved impregnation system was introduced to optimize production. This method, thanks to Eng. Gazza's patent, turned out to be the key for new successful high yield pulps with great fineness and costant quality. Its utmost versatility allows to produce various "personalized" grades, according to the single customer needs.
